ITINERARY

Day 1 – Welcome aboard – Halong cruise (L,D)

Our driver will meet you at your hotel at 8h00 am to take you on the 3h30’ drive passing the countryside of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay. (This transportation is on your request).

11.30 Arrive the private dock at Royal park in Halong City

11.45 Boarding Halong Valentine, enjoy the welcome cocktail and receive cruise briefing and safety instructions

12.15 Depart to Halong Bay – start cruise and check-in cabins

13.00 – 14.30 Lunch – enjoy deluxe Vietnamese Set Menu

14.45 Arrive at Bat Cave (Hang Doi) – choose from optional programs : visit local floating fishing village, Cua Van Village with our tender OR visit Bat cave by rowing sampan or kayak or relax with beauty services on board

It is a long and interesting day

After breakfast in the morning, we will spend the whole day today for kayaking and some actities on water activities or hiking on the islands

We will board the smaller private boat to some hiden corners of the bay and discover the beauti of Halong. Later in the afternoon return to the mother boat and enjoy the dinner after the Sunset.

There are plenty of tour operators sailing on Halong Bay - we chose Best Cruises and without a doubt it was the right decision. The company presents well on its website; yet our expectations were exceeded. The booking process was fluent, with a comfortable coach trip from Hanoi to Halong Bay. Best Cruises Operator run a fleet of luxury junks and we sailed on the newest (and smallest) - ‘Premium Valentine’. There are 2 spacious bedrooms on board, complete with shower, jacuzzi, and lots of room. Fortunately for us, we were the only couple on board for our 3 day/2 night adventure. It was fantastic...as if we had chartered the boat for ourselves. Five friendly staff on board to take us around Halong Bay and look after us. Our cruise guide was Tu – very professional, good English and a delight to be with. The meals were first class with delicious variety and lots to eat. It was a wonderful and memorable experience to explore the sights of Halong Bay on a luxury cruise which delivers excellent value for money for couples. We saw spectacular caves, climbed to the top of a small island for an incredible view over the bay, kayaked in beautiful areas, visited a floating fishing village and a pearl farm and still had time to sit back, chill out and soak it all in. In 2 or 3 years we’ll return to charter ‘Premium Valentine’ and set our own itinerary for a 3 night/4day cruise to further explore Halong Bay and beyond.

Fed Lock Australia 09-APR-2011	The junk is perfect for a larger family; with just five cabins it is very spacious for a junk, and is also clean. The only problem was the weather. We went in April and it wad always cold and foggy, not good when you want good views. It is very inconsistent in terms of weather, but still worth it.

Geoge Clinton Canada 10-AUG-2011	Exploring Halong Bay on a small cruise ship or junk is an unforgettable experience, particularly if it is as seamlessly performed as the Valentine Junk company does. From the first class cabin to the attention of the staff and wonderful food to the stops and treks along the way to visit the boat people, the hidden caves and viewing the incredible bay- this is something you will never forget. Every detail is overseen with care and eloquence. The one drawback was the long drive from Hanoi, yet this drive was soon forgotten when we entered the small junk that runs with only a small group of 10 or so people. Transfers were efficient and did not take long. We really felt that our safety and happiness were attended to by competent and knowledgeable people. In our case, we had heard that a small junk had sunk with 12 occupants only 10 days before;however, all water vessels sailing in the bay had been immediately checked and not allowed to sail until they were deemed safe.The vistas along the bay and our entre sial with the Valentine company will long be remembered.
