Da Nang used to be called Tourane under French time. It used to be the first place the French started war against Vietnam and it was also the first place the American troops landed in Vietnam in 1965. Da Nang is a nice city located right on the Han river.

Leave the port for Da Nang city. Driving along the coast line of sandy beaches. Take a photo stop at a fishing village. This offers lots of photos of the round bamboo boats used by the local to fish the squids at night.

Continue to the city center. Stop for a visit at the Cham museum where they keep many sand stone statues dated back from the 8th to 13th century. Most objects are collected from all Cham towers throughout the center of Vietnam. This is an interesting museum which attract thousands of tourists a year.

Afterward, drive to the 5th Division Museum where you can see some typical ammunition of Vietnam warfare and part of history of President Ho chi Minhs life.
